Extreme heat is expected this coming Thursday. Be prepared!
☀️ Walk pets early in the morning or later in the evening.
💧 Keep plenty of fresh, cool water available at all times.
🌳 Make sure outdoor pets have access to shade and good airflow.
🔥 Check pavement before walks—if it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for paws.
🚗 Never leave pets in a parked vehicle, even for a few minutes.
🏠 Keep pets indoors during peak heat whenever possible.
🐾 Watch for signs of heatstroke: excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or collapse.
🐶 Limit strenuous exercise and provide frequent rest breaks.
🧊 Offer frozen pet-safe treats or ice cubes to help keep pets cool.
Keep yourself hydrated too and check on your elderly neighbors.
