Please read:
I was recently asked if I was going away because of how sparse the shelves are. My answer to that was that I’m not planning to.
That being said, it has been a difficult year, in reality couple of years. I’m trying to keep things coming in, but that has become increasingly difficult due to numerous factors.
Late last year my Airfix importer in the US closed making it harder to order Airfix models, by giving me only one supplier carrying them. That supplier was Stevens International. Now as of 2 weeks ago they are also closed. That is a big blow, because they carried almost everything that I carry in store. There are other distributors that I have been using for several years, 2 to be exact, but losing one third of my suppliers makes it much more difficult to get things when they are in stock because I’m not the only store affected.
Adding to the ability to get inventory, is the rising cost of everything. Tariffs are what most likely killed the distributors and plastic needs oil to be produced and everyone sees that impact.
I’m doing the best I can with the amount of income coming in, but product doesn’t magically appear. Everything that I order must be paid for before it’s sent to me, so slow sales =less money = empty shelves. I’ll do everything I can to keep the store from going away and hopefully the support of my loyal customers will keep that from happening.
