When your hand slips and you take a bigger piece than you meant to while sanding. 🤦🏻‍♀️

That’s when it’s time to stop for the day. Thankfully I usually work in doubles so I’ve got another pair ready for market. These may end up being mine - I always wear my oops and my prototypes!

Plus my helper Freddie Purrcury said it was bed time.

On the bench! Stamping. Stamping. And more stamping today.

Bringing out some of my older stamps I haven’t used in a while that are the right mood. Lots and lots of copper coming to plus a little bit of silver.

Did you know every copper, brass, and silver item comes with a care card, polish cloth, and anti-tarnish tab? And don’t forget I can always do custom orders!

A few more batches to prep and then it’ll be time for finishing and assembly. 💪🏻⚒️

More and prep for this Friday and Saturday!

The majority of my items still include metal stamping by hand but I’ve been exploring metalsmithing and incorporating it as well. I don’t have allll the great equipment like a rolling mill or hydraulic press, but here are so many techniques that can still be done the “old school” way they just take a little more time.

For my small collection of impression dies I anneal my metal making sure it’s nice and soft, tape it down secure, and get to work on one of my stumps with different size hammers and use folded up aluminum foil to act as my pusher into the metal.

Back at the bench. ⚒️

September hit my family with some tough curveballs and we are still in it. But we are also very aware of our luck.

My energy and creative spirit is at an all time low, but I am working through it. I’m taking a metalsmith class each week to bring me back to basics and soak up that new learner excitement.

Tonight I’m working on cleaning up these heavy duty brass pendants. They are not quite square and have deep dents and dings. But…I think they’re kind of beautiful in a road-worn kind of way. These will be limited edition because I frankly don’t know where I would find more. I’ll stamp some and have the rest available for custom orders.

You can find me next November 21 & 22. Tickets are on sale now, and I may even have a couple to give away as we get closer.
