Just 2 more Aloha Fridays before the TxAAFiestaval 4/22-23. I have a few more spots open to anyone beginner/advanced who want to learn Toere techniques and drum beats, at the workshop on Friday 4/21. I tried to post a short video of the Instructor at drum practice but my minimal knowledge of FB wasn’t allowing me to do it…e kala mai. I’ll keep y’all posted. Aloha!

It’s Aloha Friday!
Texas Alamo Aloha Fiestaval is coming up in about 3 weeks! Hope everyone is gearing up to celebrate everything Polynesian, I’m looking forward to it! Also the Toere workshop is still on for Friday 4/21/23, with a big Mahalo to the 10 friends who already responded to get this workshop started. There’s still time for anyone else to join us who wants to learn Toere techniques, drum beats and pehe. Don’t forget to bring your drum/toere sticks and a little stool to sit, or sit on the ground, however you’re comfortable. We’ll meet at Trader Village no later than 5:30 to sign in and $50 fee for 1 1/2 hours of Toere lessons. Message me if you have any questions. Let’s have some fun at the Workshop…see y’all there! Pictures of Drums that I posted previously will be for sale based on availability, Friday thru Sunday.
Please bring a little stool/chair to sit on and your own toere/drum sticks. We are unable to furnish any.

The Fiestaval is almost here and the excitement is real!
Just wanted to see if anyone would be interested in learning to play the Toere (Tahitian Drum). My ‘Ohana will be here with the instruments I posted pictures of last month, and he would like to do a workshop in San Antonio Friday 4/21/23 day before the Fiestaval. The cost of the workshop is $50 for 1 1/2 hours and would like at least 10 confirmed people who will learn basic drum knowledge, style and technique, and at least one Pehe (drum beat). We will schedule a time/location for that Friday pending attendance, but will be close to Trader Village. Message me if any questions and don’t forget to bring your own stick/s and drum.
