Confession time: I made this sweater in full 3️⃣ times! I love it that much 🥰. Ready for the backstory?
First let me introduce you to the Duna Sweater designed by the uber talented Maria of . The details of this sweater are in the stitches and shaping, shape of the neck (it scoops just slightly in the front so it doesn’t ride up your neck), the tapered sleeves, (no bulk at the underarm), and the raglan design.
Now for the backstory… why did I make it three times you ask? I have tested for Maria many times, once you make one of her designs you are hooked! So this one was a no brainer, of course I had to apply. Made sweater number one and noticed, as many of us did, that the sleeves were way too bulky. Mentioned this to Maria and being the professional designer, she went back to redesign the sleeves. She let us all know and we decided to remake a second time. So I crocheted a new version by “frogging on the go” from the old sweater. After blocking I noticed the sleeves were still bulky, but not as bad. Again since not all of us were 100% satisfied with the look, she asked if we could be patient and rework up a new version. I was on board. But since my past yarn was blocked twice (and I will still wear the 2nd version), I opted for a new yarn for the third one.
This version is perfection, the detailed sleeve shaping is just genius! Maria’s dedication to getting you a design that will fit precisely is why she is one of the top crochet garment designers out there.
