Nonprofit business advocacy organization representing over 700 commercial property owners and business owners in the College Area of San Diego.

Organized in 1996, the College Area Business District manages contracts with the City of San Diego for the Maintenance Assessment District (MAD) and the Business Improvement District (BID). Under the Maintenance Assessment District, we are responsible for maintaining the aesthetics within the boundaries of the College Heights MAD. The scope of work includes all landscaping maintenance of the media

ns, sidewalk sweeping, emptying the public trash receptacles, power washing the sidewalks removing graffiti, hanging seasonal street light pole banners and maintaining the hanging flower baskets. The College Area Business District is responsible for promoting the district as a shopping and dining destination. Some of the promotional activities offered to our member businesses are Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies, Mixers, Fundraisers & more! Each year we also host several socials and educational workshops custom designed for our member businesses.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate the grand opening of Home Economics Studio! It was so exciting to see the new space filled with people checking out the studio, meeting the owner, learning about the classes and getting inspired to create.

🎉 WHAT A GRAND OPENING!🎨 300+ PEOPLE. A PACKED HOUSE. ONE BIG CELEBRATION.

The Hangout Pottery Lounge officially opened its doors, and WOW, the College Area showed up! The grand opening brought out more than 300 people for a night full of painting, good food, good vibes, and plenty of fun.

The place was packed from start to finish, with people getting creative, hanging out, and checking out the newest spot in the College Area.

Huge thank you to Cheba Hut San Diego, Woodstock's Pizza SDSU, and Dirty Birds College Area for keeping everyone fueled throughout the night. And thank you to everyone who came out and made the grand opening such a memorable night!
