For Q***r A.F.’s first open call in over a year, we want to hear what you have to say. If you are a q***r and/ or trans artist over 18 in the Bay Area, apply to be part of this show:
In conjunction with the Fall Of Freedom campaign, and on the eve of the District 8 supervisorial election, Q***r Arts Featured wishes to uplift art that speaks to what most of us are feeling on a local, national, and global scale. “UnSupervised” is a critical look at our political leadership and its effect on our daily lives, a hopeful exploration of equitable futures, and a celebration of what we create for ourselves, together.
In submitting your work, we’d love to see themes of power, neglect, memory, greed, satire, grief, repair, hope, and possibility. Years of political turmoil and corruption have deeply affected every person in the Bay Area in many ways. How have you been personally impacted? What have you seen in your communities? What could be possible when we choose, and fight for, a different path?
Submissions due by 10PM September 20th, exhibition opening October 2nd.
