Super Rare Early Australian Surf-Rock from Melbourne returned to its home:
The Lee-Dalls were a short-lived Melburnian group who released this single in 1961. It's a very early yet ahead of its time take on surf - some may argue that it has hints of what would later evolve into psychedelic rock. It would fit perfectly in a Tarantino film. The Lee-Dalls released one more single under the name "Colin Buckley with the Lee-Dalls" and nothing ever again.
Five years ago, I uploaded the audio of these two songs to YouTube and since then, I've had a few people contact me to let me know that they are related to one of the band members. My goal was to get this back to a family member, but the contact was lost. Recently, a young man by the name of Jack got in touch. He is the grandson of the pianist, Bob Nicholson, and said his granddad has been desperate to show him the music he made with The Lee-Dalls but as he lost his record collection years ago, has never had the chance.
I'm so pleased to announce that, today, this single has been shipped off to Jack and his family. I couldn't be happier about this! The sixty-five year old single is on its way home. Things like this are exactly why I am in the vinyl game!

Happy 78th Birthday, Robert Plant ✌️
A traveller of both time and space, Robert continues to evolve and deliver the fruits of his talent. His newest album, Saving Grace, is a reminder that he amazingly still has what got him the gig with Zeppelin some 58 years ago when he was on the cusp of leaving his teens. Brilliant, inspiring, and endlessly pushing himself to be reborn.

Fifty-seven years ago, Woodstock was in full swing ✌️
Originally slated as a festival of "3 days of peace & music," it ended up a four day festival from August 15th to the 18th. It included the best artists of the era, along with some who weren't even on the bill. Many of the performers were on the same trip as the audience - even legendary photographer Jim Marshall was dosed (thanks to the Grateful Dead) when he took this photo. Scared of heights, the hallucinogen made him believe he was a monkey and he scaled the scaffolding to take this iconic shot, which was later plastered across the three panels of the tri-fold album sleeve for the first Woodstock release!
This is the 4-album, 10 LP 50th anniversary Box Set. Also featured are several original tickets, some forever stained with the mud from the field!

Happy 85th Birthday, David Crosby ✌️
While the majority of 60s artists fell off the wagon of creative desire - if not falling out of music all together - Crosby was one of the few along with artists like Robert Plant and Leonard Cohen who continued to stay relevant, interesting and at the tops of their games without compromise. In the last decade of Crosby's life before his passing in 2023, he welcomed channelled a new muse which saw him put out record after record, making it the most prolific part of his career. Like his output from yesteryears, this music is soothing and harmonically rich while not falling victim to pretentiousness or shallowness - in his seventies, David Crosby's voice was incredulously still strong and he still used that vehicle to make thought-provoking, long-lasting art. This album contains his beautiful rendition of "Woodstock," the iconic track written by one of his old flames, Joni Mitchell.

One year without Ozzy 🤘🖤
When a larger than life bright light like Ozzy goes out, the ripple effect comes into play and the shimmers of what was remain - sometimes lasting longer than the source itself. The music, the experiences, the happiness in the dark which Ozzy gave to countless people over five decades keeps his name alive and stronger than ever. Directly and indirectly, he made the world a better place and today we remember him.

Happy 80th birthday, Mitchell Mitchell ✌️
Arguably the best drummer Jimi Hendrix ever had, Mitchell was his first choice and his last choice. His style afforded Hendrix complete artistic freedom to take the music to unfounded spaces, creating audible landscapes which had never before been discovered. On tracks like "Fire" and "Manic Depression," Mitch displays his abilities not limited to being the man who keeps the beat, but someone who leads.

One year ago today, Black Sabbath played for the final time 🤘 🖤
One date, dozens of performers from day to night, a reunion twenty years in the making. Announced as the original line-up back together to perform a one-off gig in their hometown of Aston, Birmingham, no one could really believe if it would happen or not: Ozzy hadn't performed in a while, and Bill hadn't been in the picture for years. Ticket sales broke all kinds of records, and decades-long fans came in droves from across the world to see the four men who changed their lives. 5th July, 2025, the day came. Tens of thousands rushed inside Villa Park to see the greatest metal and hard rock groups pay homage to Sabbath. Before the evening was out, Ozzy himself appeared on the stage. Sat in his godly throne, he performed a solo set which included a highly emotional version of "Mama, I'm Coming Home," leaving no dry eye in sight. Then, the moment people had been waiting decades for: Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi, and Bill Ward joined Ozzy on the stage and launched into "War Pigs." It was a surreal moment, history in the making, and before anyone could believe their eyes, it was over. Black Sabbath performed four songs in total before leaving the stage.
None of us knew that it would truly be the last time, until 17 days later...

Fifty-five years ago today, James Douglas Morrison went to the Great Gig in the Sky 🌈
A poet at heart, after six albums with The Doors, Jim left it all behind to focus on his writing. Only 27 years old, he had accomplished more than most ever will in a lifetime. The work he leaves behind has been standing the test of time for almost six decades, still at the forefront of creativity, still influencing. The more you look at his lyrics or written poetry, the more you discover about his mind and how it perceived the world around him. Some people see in black and white, others in colours; Jim saw in all that and more, and did his best to express the infinite for our finite existence.

Happy 72nd Birthday, Alejandro de Michele✌️
One half of the '70s Argentinian folk-rock duo, "Pastoral," Alejandro had one of the most unique voices in South America. The music of Pastoral was different to many other folk/rock/psych groups at the time, mixing soft and light sounds with heavy and abrasive lyricism, dealing with taboo themes like isolation, insanity, and death. Their third album, "Humanos," sought to shed light on longstanding worldwide issues like the pollution and destruction of our Earth, and how to go on to find reason and beauty in life after losing our loved ones. It's a dark record full of optimistic conclusions which outweigh the unsavoury topics we often prefer to ignore. Alejandro's writing was pure poetry:
"If the grass grazes me
The meadows will be the fog
That will explode tomorrow
And the man who treads on me today
Believing himself powerful
Will know he is only something else."
