End of summer vibes from this Starfish and Coral print - a bold black starfish set against a warm textured orange and black undersea background with dot and line details that draw you in the closer you look.
We chose a ch*****ne gold frame with a wavy ripple texture and parallel lines giving it an organic, fluid quality that plays on the movement and theme of the print. Float mounted on white mat board with a quarter inch shadowbox interior so the whole inside reads seamlessly. The shadow line around the float gives the piece real depth. Museum glass for UV protection and reflection-free viewing.

We built the frame design around the off white of the artist paper and the texture and movement in this etching by Leticia Tarragó itself. A scooped frame with an oxidized, layered finish that picks up the color palette and the energy of the print. Classic and timeless, which suits this limited edition piece perfectly. A wide off white mat blends seamlessly into the art paper with a bevel catching the light beautifully and the plate mark, that subtle impression left by the etching plate, has just enough room to breathe and nothing feels crowded.

A dog portrait on canvas, wrapped by the artist around a board. Our client loved it exactly as it came and so did we. We kept it that way and framed it in a deep dark walnut floater frame that wraps around the board with intention, letting the full canvas show including the painted edges, the folds and the raw imperfect corners. That is the whole point of a floater frame: nothing hidden or corrected. The dark walnut accentuates the dog’s personality and the isolated way the artist painted it against that white background beautifully.

A 1994 Warner Bros. animation cel, “Peace and Carrots,” featuring Bugs Bunny and Marvin the Martian, signed by legendary animator Chuck Jones.

We get a lot of limited edition and signed animation and cartoon cels through our Castro shop and they are always a treat to frame! Collectors who love this kind of art know exactly what it says about them and we love when the framing reflects that.
For this one we chose a two tone frame: a glossy blue with visible brushstrokes on the face of the frame and a gold textured layer on the side and the lip. The lip is the part of the frame that overhangs the glass, and when it catches the light it adds a subtle finishing detail that most people feel before they notice it. The colors echo the calm blue tones in the cel itself. A red and blue double mat adds the reveals that make Bugs and Marvin really punch through.

These charming prints by pair old-fashioned printing techniques and vintage book pages with bold messages about feminism, freedom, rights, and protest. This one is for the Warriors fans. A Stephen Curry signed jersey, hand-sewn to a white mat inside a shadowbox with one detail that makes it: the inside walls of the frame match Warriors blue. Subtle, but once you see it you cannot unsee it.
Conservation clear glazing with 99% UV protection keeps the jersey and that signature exactly as they are.

We just framed this Stacy Peralta poster, “The Joy of Decay,” from his Santa Monica show.
Went with a steel welded frame for this one: bold, vintage, distressed, with the paint breaking down into raw rusted steel. Still reads clean because of the simple frame shape and because we skipped the mat entirely. Also, because we placed the poster straight into the frame, that bold type runs right to the edge.
Glazing is Optium Museum Acrylic. 99% UV protection, won’t shatter like glass, and cuts glare better than anything else out there.
