November 24, 2009 || SF tree ride to fakie || this was an iconic spot of the time. There’s probably hundreds of of shots just like this in the world. I was 17. SF was a frequented spot for me and my buddies. This one gets me stoked for more tree rides. 2025 I’m coming for you!

Can’t remember who took this photo.

Pistachio jumps July 2010. I used to have hair, but my no foot cans look about the same still. Practice hasn’t made perfect, but it’s made some good memories.

I’ve always been a digger, from making mud pies, to building jumps. Dirt is my world. These jumps were in a super tight fishing trail area behind my childhood home. I had already gotten kicked out of countless other spots where we had built jumps and this felt like the final frontier. These jumps were nasty and tight, the same way I still like em built. Keep on riding yall. It’s a good time.

That’s my dad. It’s Father’s Day.

Funny thing about these photos is I didn’t realize how much of a mark this day would leave on me. and I were at my parents house helping out with whatever they pointed a finger at. We cut limbs, built s**t, and did general home stuff.

My dad was pretty sick at the time. He couldn’t help with the physical stuff as much as he did when he was healthy. He was tired and undergoing treatment for cancer.

So after trimming some limbs, and wanting to have a permaculture style in my parents backyard, I said we should get a chipper and chip all the limbs. We went to the rental store, then towed one home. I pulled the truck confidently into the yard, navigating the fencing and narrow pathways with a trailer perfectly. Then… I proceeded to get the truck and trailer stuck on flat ground… then get super frustrated. Probably use some choice words, and spin the tires.

I tried to put it in 4x4. Nothing happened (turned out the actuator was bad at the time).

Put it in low gear… still nothing.

My dad came to save the day at this point. Physically weak, but mentally strong, my dad got the truck@out of its muddy pit in minutes. No choice words, just pure dad superhero strength.

He proudly posed in front of the truck with Bandit (the dog) after he got her unstuck.

I think about this day too often, now towing trailers more than I care to admit. And even as I write this I tear up. I miss you dude!

It’s been a long time coming but we finally got married!

Many of you thought we were already married, and at times I felt like it. Our lives are intertwined like the vines of a Bougainvillea and they continue to grow and morph around each other. Our wedding marks another day to commemorate in our lives. One that coincided with the start of get rad pizza. In a magical place that we call home.
