Throwback to Stationery Store Day two weeks ago ✏️💛We made these giant pencils just for the event, one for the window, one hanging outside the shop, and one for the cash register.
It was SO much fun to bring these to life. Working with our hands on a new creative project to celebrate such an important day in our little (big) world brought us so much joy.
It all began with a giant cardboard tube that once held a photo backdrop. Instead of tossing it, we had this wild idea to turn it into a pencil for Stationery Store Day.
It felt like a school project in the best way. It took several weeks 😂. The whole team pitched in, I had yellow paint on my hands most days, and the trickiest part was creating the pencil tip and transferring our logo onto the pencil. Hanging the smaller pencil outside the shop was also VERY scary. It doesn’t look that high until you’re standing at the top of the ladder.
The pencil isn’t perfect, but that’s the point (pun not intended). It’s handmade, not store-bought. With all its perfect imperfections, it’s our pencil, and it brought so much spirit to the day.
We’ll definitely be bringing it back next year... and maybe giving it a friend. 👀 Any ideas?
