About Us
SpaceCat has been a family-owned comics and collectibles shop in San Jose since 1988, and we have online storefronts on both Amazon and eBay. If comics, trading cards, vintage videogames, or collectibles are already part of your life, this might be your kind of job! We're not looking for someone killing time between other options; we’re looking for someone who'd hang out here even if they didn't work here.
Schedule & Availability
SpaceCat is open every day of the year except Thanksgiving and Christmas. Right now, we’re seeking a full time employee (32+ hours/week), but the scheduling is very flexible and part time position are possible. New hires are generally expected to be available anytime from 9:45 AM to 9:15 PM, daily — availability is one of the most important things we look for.
Pay
Pay starts at $18.45/hour with significant room to grow! Pay raises are expected as you take on more responsibilities around the store, such as running our TCG events and handling buys.
The Role
The two main aspects of the job are online and in store. Online you’ll be making listings for our eBay store (mostly bulk comic lots, but a smattering of other products as well). In the store you’ll be helping customers, cashiering, and keeping the store neat, stocked, and orderly. Over time, as you establish yourself here, you may take on further responsibilities such as involvement in specific game lines (events, ordering, inventory). Typically these additions will result
