We've updated out site to include several new Billing Boats model kits. Most of these are plastic hulled kits, many of which are ideal for RC conversion. Most are also very inexpensive. These are ideal kits for the beginning ship or boat modeler, and nice, fun and quick projects for the experienced builder.

Look what's newly released and now in stock at Billing Boats USA: The merchant freighter M/S Mercantile, a type of ship that was common in the 1960's through the 1990's.

This 1:50 scale wooden ship model kit measures just under 38" long when completed, features laser-cut structural parts and wooden boats for covering the hull. Brass propeller and shaft should allow for conversion to RC operation.

This is a kit designed for Experienced builders.

Spotted this nice little Youtube video showing a quick overview of the building of the Billing Boats St. Roch kit.

This is a 1:72-scale model of the first ship to successfully navigate the Northwest Passage from the Pacific to the Atlantic. This is an Advanced Beginner kit, so we recommend trying this kit only if you've built a ship model kit before, ideally one of ours!

Here's a great kit you might consider for your next project. The St. Canute Tug is a Billing Boats classic. This 1:50 scale model of the 1931 Danish tugboat and icebreaker measures just over 22" long when complete.

It features laser-cut wooden framework which you will cover with a single layer of planking material. While not made for R/C operation, it's open interior spaces allow a modeler with some creative skills to convert it into an operating model.

This is classed an Advanced Beginner model. Those unfamiliar with Billing Boats kits might want to try a Beginner kit first, such as the Dana Fishingboat or the Norden Cutter, or at least become familiar with the instructions, wich can be downloaded from our site.
