✨ One Month Later ✨
It’s been one month since Gaia’s Gallery closed its doors on 9/22/25. A decision I made after eight incredible years in the heart of downtown San Luis Obispo. This choice was deeply personal and intentional, guided by many factors — not simply parking, bike lanes, or any single challenge, but a deeper knowing that it was time.
This year has tested retail in profound ways. The steady decline in downtown foot traffic was undeniable. Yet let me be clear — Gaia’s Gallery did not close from defeat, but from wisdom. I chose to complete this chapter consciously, with gratitude for what was created and trust in what’s next.
Gaia’s Gallery was never only a business to me. It was a sacred space of light, curiosity, transformation, and connection to community, to the Earth, to the Heavens, and to one another.
Since the closing, the emotions layered within have been overwhelming. I’ve needed to pause, breathe, and honor the beauty and bravery of it all.
To everyone who truly supported this journey — thank you. Your energy and kindness gave Gaia’s heartbeat, and that heartbeat continues through you.
Special thanks to Steven from Zen Shack for your extraordinary energy and determination in helping my family and I accomplish the nearly impossible task of vacating in eight days. You went above and beyond. Your spark along with Katie’s will continue to shine at Zen Shack and Euphoria, as you are now the crystal store in dtslo.
Matty from Leaves Me Love, your plants brought life and calm to the crystal environment — they truly thrived in the gallery’s energy.
Nate Ross, your creative media vision and innovative thinking made for some awesome reels such as our Amethyst giveaway. Thank you!!
And to my beautiful soul sister Jennifer — your enduring support, heart-led wisdom and conscious guidance you brought to the gallery were irreplaceable.
Downtown SLO may be in transition, but I still believe in its spirit of renewal. I’ll always be proud to have been a unique business owner on Higuera. Thank you, San Luis Obispo.
May we all trust our own timing, honor our endings, and welcome new beginnings.
With love and gratitude,
Christine
