Ten years ago, Pam and I made a huge business risk and an even-bigger leap of faith! We purchased a retail shopping center in south San Marcos, Centerpoint Plaza.
Pam’s business, Two P’s & Calli’s Boutique, had relocated to Centerpoint Plaza two years before and when the opportunity to buy the real estate occurred, we jumped on it. At the time, the shopping center had a bar-b-q place, a store selling various Mexican ceramics and art, a pizza chain, a sandwich chain, and, the anchor tenant, Starbucks.
Shortly after the real estate purchase, we opened Cody’s Restaurant, Bar & Patio, which will also celebrate ten years of business in a few months. Fast forward to today, and we are happy that Starbucks is still churning out the caffeine as one of the highest-grossing sales units in Texas.
And we are especially proud that all the tenants in the main building are locally-owned, family businesses. Hays County Outfitters, Hot Nails Spa, and Sugar Shack Bakery, along with Two P’s and Cody’s have enjoyed much success thanks to a wonderful and loyal customer base throughout the region.
