After surviving last few days of devastation from the fires, I’m trying to get my head straight and see what I can do to help… luckily my home is safe in Pasadena even though I’m in a woody area.
But so many of my friends and their families have lost their homes and businesses which breaks my heart to pieces…

My AWESOME small business owner friends in Mission Village in San Marino and my dear friend Jill
are starting to join hands to collect donations for those affected by the fire.
I am definitely going to do what I can to help. If you are looking for a way to help, here is what we can do in our local area.

We made it on the front page of San Marino tribune today AND they did a full spread story on Simply Fresh. WOW!!!

What a way to wrap up 24 years of epic history in San Marino… it’s the sweetest going away / keepsake present ever!!!! 💝🤗
Especially to be featured in their December paper, since we were known to be the “Holiday Central One Stop Shop” 🎄🎅🏼 🤶🏻🎄

It took weeks to clear out all the 24 years of built up clutter & junk, sorting out left over merchandise for donation, gifts for my friends, a few keepsakes for myself, and moving all the fixtures to the storage. Then I was finally faced with the empty space which I forgot how large it was…

And I saw these forgotten doors 🚪🚪🚪🚪
I picked out one by one at a vintage architectural salvage yard to make this screen ( it was 2001, in the middle of moment :)
I bet you never noticed it with all the merchandise in front of it, in my “beach / CA section” corner. Right?

So much fearless energy & passion went into creating this space… I started with very little, just the little 🏠. I put in the awning 🎪, back fence + gates, and worked hard to reinvest into the business, adding layer by layer, to create the shop as we remember now, a treasure trove PACKED IN with “FRESH New Findings EVERYDAY.”

I gave my 30 year old self the butterfly hug ((hug of self love)) saying you come a loooong way lil 🐛……. Now it’s time to flutter 🦋 for a while until you find a new spot to land 🌻 and create beauty again! 🧚🏼‍♀️🪄🫧

If these walls could talk… I’m sure it would be mostly laughs, but did you know that we have a friendly ghost 👻 at SF?


Written yesterday / Halloween ~
Yesterday was my last day of packing & clearing out the shop, and it dawned on me that it’s Halloween, so I have a story for you… 😉🖤

I’m very intuitive, I can feel a bad energy when I enter a room. 😱
But I never felt scared or nervous being in the shop night or day.
Yet my long time employees will testify we had some funny things 🤔 goings on over the years. Things moving or falling down when no one is in the room. BUT through all the earthquakes, storms and natural disasters, we never experienced any major damages… Therefore I never had the urge to Sage the place cuz I knew whoever it is, 👻 was happy to be there. And was protecting the shop 😇, just a little mischievous 👼🏼 like me 😜
