Millican Pecan is all about old fashioned quality, founded on 5 generations of tradition. Our goal is to deliver fresh, delicious pecan goodness from our orchard to you! Millican Pecan is located in San Saba, Texas, the Pecan Capital of the World. The "Mother Pecan Tree", located in the heart of our orchard, has been used to produce many great pecan varieties. Harvested from our pecan orchard, she

lled at our shelling plant, and then flavored by our chocolatiers or prepared by our artisan bakers… delivering a very high quality, fresh product for you or anyone you choose. Consider pecans the next time you wish to send a gift or thank you to someone special!

You asked how we make them, so come on in the kitchen with me...
It starts with rich, creamy milk chocolate, orchard-fresh pecans, and a careful coating process that builds the perfect chocolate shell around every pecan. After cooling and receiving a glossy finish, each batch is packaged into snack bags, gift tins and bulk boxes that find their way to homes and stores across the country.

The result is a timeless favorite that's equal parts smooth, crunchy and satisfying.

Which package would you reach for first - the snack bag or gift tins?

If the only place you’re using pecans is on a salad… you’re missing out. 👇

Pecans can add incredible flavor and crunch to so many savory dishes. Here are 3 easy ways to use them this week:

1. Make a crispy crust. Finely chop pecans and use them as a coating for baked chicken or fish. They turn golden, flavorful, and perfectly crunchy.

2. Sprinkle them on your favorite sides. Toss chopped pecans over roasted vegetables, green beans, or even mac and cheese for an extra layer of texture and buttery flavor.

3. Make a batch of spiced pecans. A simple mix of pecans, olive oil, your favorite savory seasonings, and a quick roast makes a protein-packed snack that’s hard to stop eating.

Pecans aren’t just for pies and salads—they belong at the center of your dinner table, too.

In a world that tells us to chase more, we’re learning that the richest life is often the simplest one.

Living simply.
Loving God.
Loving our neighbors.
Stewarding the land we’ve been entrusted with.

There’s something deeply satisfying about slowing down enough to notice the beauty of creation, to work with our hands, to care for the soil, and to invest in people instead of possessions.

This isn't really our land—we’re simply caretakers for a little while. May we leave it healthier, our communities stronger, and our faith deeper than we found them.

This is the kind of legacy worth building.

“He has told you, O man, what is good: to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” — Micah 6:8

The #1 mistake people make? Storing pecans at room temperature.

Because pecans are naturally rich in healthy oils, heat and light cause those oils to go rancid over time. The best way to keep them tasting fresh, buttery, and delicious is simple: store them in the freezer.

Don’t worry—they won’t freeze solid, and you can grab a handful anytime you need them for baking, snacking, or cooking.

At Millican Pecan, we freeze our pecans to lock in the fresh-from-the-orchard flavor, and we recommend you do the same at home. Your taste buds will thank you!

Have you been storing your pecans in the pantry or the freezer? Let us know below! 👇

There is something special about watching a child discover where their food comes from.

Every year, we welcome school groups to Millican Pecan to spend a day in our orchard kitchen learning about Texas’ native pecans, our family’s history, and the rich pecan heritage of San Saba. They crack pecans with their own hands, learn how these trees grow, hear the stories that have shaped generations of our family, and even bake their very own pecan pie to take home.

In a world where so much happens behind a screen, we believe children need opportunities to put their hands in nature, ask questions, and see firsthand the care it takes to grow the food that nourishes us. When they understand agriculture, they begin to appreciate the farmers, the land, and the seasons that make every harvest possible.

These field trips aren’t just about pecans—they’re about planting seeds of curiosity, gratitude, and stewardship. We hope every child leaves with a deeper appreciation for God’s creation and a desire to care for the land that will one day be entrusted to their generation.

Because the future of agriculture depends on raising young people who don’t just enjoy nature—but who know how to nurture it.

🌰 DID YOU KNOW SAN MARCOS HOSTS ONE OF TEXAS' BIGGEST PECAN EVENTS?

Pecan growers from across Texas—and beyond—will be gathering in San Marcos July 12-15 for the 105th Annual Texas Pecan Growers Association Conference and Trade Show.

Held at the Embassy Suites Conference Center, the event brings together growers, researchers, vendors, and industry professionals for several days of educational sessions, networking, demonstrations, and field tours focused on one of Texas' most iconic crops.

The conference is free for active Texas Pecan Growers Association members, and organizers say anyone interested in learning more about pecan production is welcome to attend.

One interesting note: this will be the association's last full conference and trade show until 2028, making this year's gathering especially significant.

WE'RE THANKFUL 👇🏽
One of the greatest privileges in food is getting to meet the people who grow it. This week, we spent time with pecan farmers whose days are shaped by early mornings, long seasons, unpredictable weather, and a deep commitment to stewarding the land. Seeing the care, expertise, and hard work that goes into every harvest is a powerful reminder that great food always starts with great people.

We’re incredibly thankful for farmers—the men and women whose dedication makes it possible for families to gather around good food every day. Behind every pecan is a story of patience, perseverance, and passion, and we’re honored to learn from those who make it all happen. Their work inspires us and strengthens our commitment to bringing you the very best pecans possible.
