Gram's started with an empty house on the property. What to do with it. Having been in the Flea Market business for a number of years, we have an abundance of STUFF. To set all the stuff out for a tag sale would be a tremendious task. So, what to do. Turn Garms house into a store. So to work we went. We built shelves on all the walls in the little three room house and voila, instant store. Now loa

d all the shelves with all you can. Then let the public know that you are open. Put ads in all the free papers and advertise at the end of the road. As folks come to see just what you are all about, you have printed signs that say you will take donations from them. That way they can feel good about doing their part in saving our planet. Then while daily life goes on and you have to do the weekly shopping on a Sunday evening, suddenly you find a load of Stuff on the side of the road with a FREE sign on it , and suddenly you are stopping to see if there are any good items that someone might like. Then you spot the mother load, two large trailer loads of furniture. You stop and start to load a few things into your car and the owner comes out and says he has more, and do you want it. Sure you say, and fill the car (SUV) with as much as you can possibly fit in. Now you go home to drop off this load (mind you it is already 7:30) and you have to make it home, empty the car, hitch the trailer to the car and go back to get the rest of the STUFF. You pull back in your yard and back the trailer under the carport and make it in the house by 10:45. The following morning you rise at 6:00 (notice I didn't say shine) so you can empty the car again because you need to go after the Otis Gazette at 8:30 so you can deliver them, (your job) to all the stores in south county. When you get home from your job you can unload the trailer and set up and check out what you got (cause it was dark when you loaded it). Oh, by the way, on your way to pick up the OG you spot a desk on the side of the road that you stop and load in the back of the car and tie down the hatchback cause its too long. Bring it home and unload it to start your deliveries. What a day, it's already 8:00 pm and you are spent. A light supper and its off to bed. The continuation of this saga to follow soon.

Spent the day sorting out things that had been dropped off at the store during the week. My daughter and I found some nice things and put them out on the shelves. GRAM'S will be open this weekend, Sat & Sun, Aug 15 & 16 from 9 to 4. Stop by and check out all the new stuff.

Gram's is open from 9 to 4, on the first and third weekends of each month, thru October. Stop in and find your treasure. We add new items every week. Whatever you need for your home, we probably have it.
