Long rant with serious question alert!!!

Last night was the first time I’ve had a studio moment where I was up till 3:30 am in what feels like at least a decade. I haven’t slept till 10:30 in just as long (aside from during bad snow storms maybe).
I feel like the day is already gone. I get it, but I have no idea how people can sleep this late, I hate it. Ha ha

Anyways, so Friday we went into the studio to record with the concept of rearranging a proggy/Opeth kind of acoustic song that was maybe 5.5 minutes long. So Friday ended up being a crazy wind and rain storm and we lost power, decided to head over to Dave’s house and do arrangements in his studio and send it back to the main studio and track it later, we ended up with a 6 minutes long song that needed a little more work. So yesterday I decided to work on those ideas and try to finish it.
13 hours later, I now have an 11+ minutes long song ha ha. Still got lots of work to do…I told myself no 10+ minute songs in this project. I’ve actually already gone through a lot with another song and split it into a 2 part song for this reason ha ha ha. I’ve realized, it’s unavoidable at this point, there’s going to be an epic that’s more epic than the already epic song that we have already finished on this album ha ha ha.
The big reason (of many btw) was so we can do a vinyl…well now what ha ha?
45 minutes running time tops on vinyl. We are at probably 60 minutes or more.

Album and Ep? Double album?
Save a few songs for next album?
All these songs tie together, it’s a flaw I have, everything’s gotta be a theme, and I just think in long passages I guess….but it’s a thing, and the pain is real. I have some self diagnosed OCD that is a serious hindrance if I must say so myself. Maybe it’s an Aries thing, maybe I’m just stupid, I don’t know lol, but yeah, this is my life. Controlled chaos that is chaotic still.

Still The Seas …more like still the brain ha ha…can’t stop!

What do you all think?
Maybe vinyl with a few bonus streaming only songs?
No one likes eps, no one buys CDs, no one even cares at all if you think about it lol…
The music industry sucks now.
One thing I do not want to do is release the whole thing on stream for free. I really feel like if you do that songs just get clicked and skipped and slept on.
Not appreciated, not consumed as I want them to be anyways.
What does everyone think? Does it even matter these days?
Would people actually “buy” the album if I don’t cave and actually make it not fully available from rip and make you go through the work of ordering it and waiting for it to arrive in the mail and force you to sit down and give it the time it deserves?
I feel that streaming has absolutely stolen that which makes albums special
Going to post this in a few spots to get a better consensus

So I just got done looking at a local jam room to rent for various projects.

I need a drummer, guitarist, bassist interested in jamming and or
sharing a room. Before I commit to another bill each month.

Hit me up everyone

Going to try something different. After reading a lot on Spotify, I’m going to try and boost plays of not only my music but bands I like and bands that inspired me.

I’m going to try and make a new one each week in hopes to not only spread my music but bands from the genre as a whole.

I’ll take suggestions each week, I just ask that everyone share the link.
Obviously the bands need to be similar and I got a lot of friends who really like death/doom metal, dark, gothic stuff.
So, here’s the first one, and I’ll admit I’m slow to playlists and honestly didn’t know how to even make them or share them.

Let’s all start doing this with our bands and friends in hopes to push our music and strengthen the genre as a whole.

Here’s my first one, I didn’t know about order or anything like that so my next one will be much better and in depth.

Share this, and send your requests maybe we can do a weekly or monthly listening party/live stream where we all hang out and video chat?

As the colder months approach, there’s not much cooler s**t I can think of while being stranded in an ice cube ha ha.

Share that s**t
