Grace Episcopal Church Thrift Shop

Grace Episcopal Church Thrift Shop Consignment shop, accepts donations. Run by volunteers since 1948. Proceeds go to community outreach. The Grace Thrift Shop was founded in 1948.

It has been staffed by volunteers since the beginning and continues to be run entirely by volunteers. Over the years, the Thrift Shop has been in several downtown Sandusky locations. We've been at 301 East Market Street since May, 2013. Since 1948 the store has been a consignment shop and donations are also accepted. Merchandise includes: clothing for men, women, juniors, children, toddlers and infants; shoes; jewelry; linens; small kitchen and other household items. Everything we sell is clean and workable. All net proceeds go to support local charities. We also provide free clothing and other items to people in need who come to us with letters from churches and organizations. In 2006 the Thrift Shop was given The Lavender Award for Excellence by the Volunteer Center for exemplifying volunteerism at its best. (The Lavender Award for Excellence is given annually to a program, organization or agency in Erie County, Ohio that has shown exemplary use of volunteers to meet social needs of the community).

THE RISE OF THE CROSS
The Symbol of Christianity From the Byzantine Empire and Beyond

History you can see. Stories you can discover.

Grace Episcopal Church invites you to experience a remarkable exhibition of authentic ancient crosses — not reproductions — spanning centuries of Christian history.

From the collection of John M. Lawrence and curated by Thomas Myers, The Rise of the Cross explores the development of Christianity’s most recognizable symbol from the Byzantine Empire and beyond.

Each piece is accompanied by explanatory material designed to inform, challenge, and spark curiosity, offering visitors the opportunity to explore the history, artistry, cultures, and stories represented by these extraordinary objects.
