This Buescher Aristocrat had a bad relacquer done at some point in time. I removed the lacquer that was left on it, added a vintage finish and re-engraved it. Then I relaqured a clear coat over it.

Re-engraved a Martin Comm. I Skyline today. It was buffed almost completely away in some parts.

This is from a horn that just had a complete overhaul from another shop. There was obviously not much effort put into trying to get this out. Between cutting a new slot with a tiny dremel bit, a little penetrating oil and some heat it took about five minutes to get this out and replaced. Please make sure if you are paying for a complete overhaul, that is what you are getting. There is no reason this should not have been replaced.

On the bench today a late Martin Centennial alto. It’s definitely seen better days, but you don’t see one everyday. Very cool seeing the mix of Comm II and Comm III parts on this transitional horn.

This horn came in and was supposed to have been overhauled before I received it. It was purchased through an online auction and although it had new pads, the tone holes were uneven and half the pads weren’t even seated. The neck had a bad leak, and it needed a few oversized rods, and/or post bushings. On the plus side it’s a beautiful gold plated sax that is very clean. That being said I tried to make this post bushing repair as invisible as possible!
