Today our small town experienced something none of us ever thought we’d see here — a shooting that has left our community shaken and grieving.
In a place where everyone knows everyone, this kind of violence feels especially shocking and unreal. Our hearts are heavy for the victims who never should have had to endure this, and for their families. We’re also deeply grateful for our first responders who ran toward danger to protect and help others.
No one should have to feel the fear and uncertainty so many felt today because of the actions of one person. It’s a painful reminder that even when we think we’re prepared, tragedy can still find us.
Details are still emerging and it’s far too early to know everything. For now, let’s hold space for those hurting the most, support our local heroes, and lean on each other as a community.
We pray this kind of pain never touches our town — or any town — again.
