Time on the water shows.

Steven Knight of River Knight Outfitters spends his days chasing fish on dries—tricos, caddis, PMDs, salmon flies—and he’s always looking for a rod that can cover it all.

First time casting the 9’ 4-weight, what stood out was the balance. A sensitive tip that protects light tippets and lets you feel the fish, paired with the strength down low to handle bigger fish.

Long, accurate casts. Clean line control. No pile-up.

A rod built to do more than one thing—and do it well.

Appreciate you taking the time to step in and share your thoughts, Steven.

One of our favorite people we met at the Wasatch FlyFishing-Tying Expo !
Sarah Augenstein decided to stop and test out her brand new Super Veloce. This was a new release rod we had at the show that she fell in love with. Nice work Sarah!!

Wrapping up the Wasatch Fly Tying & Fly Fishing Expo today, and this was one of our favorite moments.

Faith and Grace from Twins on the Fly got a few casts in—and it clicked right away.

A grip that fits.
A smooth, natural load.
Effortless distance without forcing it.

Simple, honest reactions from young fly fishers who just got their hands on it.

Strong first impressions for Gatti Fly Rods.

Travis Krause —a fine artist and fly angling artist—spent the day sharing his work at the Wasatch Fly Expo… and stepped away for a moment to try something different.

A Gatti rod out of Italy, and a completely different feel on the water.

When the cast disappears and all you’re thinking about is the spot—that’s when you know it’s right.

Art meets fly fishing. And somehow, both get better.

When someone like Cheech from Fly Fish Food grabs a rod and starts casting, you pay attention.

We didn’t script this.
We didn’t ask for a review.

He picked it up, put it to work, and said exactly what matters:

Strong recovery.
Clean feel.
And that tapered grip—it just sits right in your hand.

Real feedback, from someone who’s cast just about everything out there.

If you’re at the Wasatch Expo, come put a Gatti in your hand and feel it for yourself.

First Impressions: Gatti Fly Rods

At the Wasatch Fly Tying & Fly Fishing Expo, you hear a lot of opinions.
Most are cautious. Some are hyped.
But every now and then, the reactions are immediate—and consistent.

That’s what we kept hearing at the Gatti booth.

Gatti Fly Rods has been building rods in Italy for decades, known for precision craftsmanship and performance-driven design. What stood out this weekend wasn’t just the legacy—it was how people reacted the moment they cast one.

“Way better than I thought.”
“Effortless.”
“I’ve cast everything… nothing like this.”

Power when you need it.
Feel when it matters.
Fast action that still lets the rod load naturally.
And that tapered grip—once it’s in your hand, you get it.

From first-time casters to guys who fish across the country, the feedback kept lining up the same way: control, recovery, responsiveness—and a rod that just feels right.

All they had to do was cast and they knew they were working with something different.

The visitors and vendor feedback speaks for itself.

Doors open at 9AM—come by the show, get a Gatti in your hand, and see what everyone’s talking about.
