Prayers needed!

As you may have realized, I’ve been MIA lately.

We have had a whirlwind few weeks, moving HJ home from DCP, moving her into college, riv starting her dance season, choreography intensives, and high school…that’s enough for any family to balance in three weeks time but we have also been balancing Harper leaving, an ambulance ride and stitches for grandaddy Mike after a fall, AND a mysterious health issue that transformed my mother in law from an independent woman who drove and handled all her own bills and responsibilities to having palliative care being called in!

She can no longer feed herself, manage her diabetes, isn’t fully aware of her surroundings, sometimes doesn’t even recognize Casey or other family members, and is struggling mentally with distorted reality of who, what, when, and where she is! Unfortunately, after 2 weeks in the hospital, MRI’s, EKG, brain scans, and even a review of her spinal tap from the Mayo Clinic…they can’t find any cause of her rapid decline.

She has lost her ability to swallow, even just water, but is pulling out her feeding tube in confusion. As you can imagine, this is taking a huge toll on her body and brain and on us as a family, as it’s sooo hard to watch her suffer and have no answers.

We are all perplexed, tired, and devastated by the events that have unraveled over the past few weeks and feel helpless.

Will you pray for her healing, for the doctors to find a clear cause, and for peace for us as a family? And that if she can’t be healed that she not suffer, as the past few weeks have been horrible.
