We have been working on our Carolina homestead for several years - enough to appreciate the ups and downs of beekeeping. Our land has abundant forage on local plants including longleaf pine, tulip poplar, holly, clover, golden rod, camellia, and crape myrtle. After the honey harvest, we collect and render beeswax to create candles, balms, and more

Our honeybees in the mountains made an abundant crop of Sourwood honey this season. Today with the help of Faith Mountain Farm, Chad Smith, Harris Honey, we Nathan Maust and Michelle Samson Maust trucked home these heavy hives. Another harvest for these busy beekeepers!

Spotlight on our honeycomb, made by the bees and cut with care into beautiful little sections. It won first place at the Summer Conference and Honey Competition by the North Carolina State Beekeepers Association

We have a handful of cut comb sections remaining from this season. And some chocolate dipped pieces too!
