Opening in August 2012, Divine Finds Thrift Shop is a non profit thrift shop. All profits from our shop are donated directly to Carolina Animal Rescue and Adoption. We are a non profit organization as well and ALL donations are Tax deductible. We accept ALL household items - Clothes, decor, furniture etc. We are also a donation drop off point for Carolina Animal Rescue and Adoption www.cara-nc.org. Our prices are amazing, our items are gently loved, and our cause is heartfelt. Come visit us today!

Volunteer needed!! 🚨

A Thursday midday volunteer spot has opened up! This program is a favorite of many past and present volunteers and is definitely a favorite for our dogs.

This volunteer program only takes two hours of your time once a week for a minimum of three months. It gives our dogs much needed time outside. They always enjoy playing, cuddling, and spending time with our midday volunteers. ☀️

You must be at least eighteen years old and be able to handle a dog that weighs over sixty lbs. The flier has more info.

You can fill out a volunteer application on our website. Just make sure to select “midday” on the application. ❤️

After 40 years of muddy paws, daily cleaning, countless animals, a few tears and a whole lot of happy endings, our shelter is showing its age. Now it’s time to give the building that has cared for so many animals a little TLC of its own.

Over the years, we’ve prioritized what matters most: the animals in our care. CARA has consistently devoted about 88% of its expenses to operating the shelter program, leaving limited room for major repairs to an aging building. We’ve stretched every dollar and used Band-Aids where we could, but we’re past that point.

Our steel fire doors have rusted beyond repair. We eked 40 years out of them, but their useful life has come to an end. Our roof needs attention. The ramp to our storage area has to be replaced. The fence needs TLC. We need to divert water away from a lean-to that keeps the pups dry on rainy days. We’re struggling to keep the shelter cool in the summer and warm in the winter. We have a leaky faucet and the kitty room needs new plexiglass.

And that’s just the beginning of the list.

These aren’t glamorous projects, but they’re necessary ones. Taking care of this building means making sure CARA can continue to be here for the animals and the community that depend on us.

Right now, every dollar donated can make twice the impact.

Thanks to a generous matching gift from the Ruby and Ernest McSwain Worthy Lands Trust, every dollar donated to our campaign will be matched, dollar for dollar, until we’ve unlocked the full $25,000 match.

$25 becomes $50.
