While out looking for Gundam models (thanks a lot )I came across these World War Toons tanks. This thing just screams Ork”, or I guess, more appropriately, “WAAAAAAGH!!!”. Going to see what kind of orky s**t I can come up with.

A coat of graphite primer, some quick dry brush passes with a few different grey and beige shades, and a little bit of a dry brush with a wash (you read that correctly), and we’re on our way to some grungy, nasty, asphalt.

This is a test piece for my Ultramarine army. The look is an homage to the patinated, brass chess set my grandfather brought back with him from England after WWII. I learned to play chess with that set so it holds a special place in my heart. The plan is to have this worn look with the left pauldron, eyes, and all purity seals panted in the normal fashion. Still have some work to do.

Rough sketch of my creation. Brainstorming ideas for the feet while I start building the armature. Also thinking of a cool backstory, which will probably involve some damn grovites dealing out of a bitchin’ Camaro.

Working on a display diorama for minis and have decided to go with overgrown, Imperial ruins incorporating dried out grapevine. Still a lot of work to do. Oh yeah, this is also my first attempt at an Ork.

I haven’t made a miniature/diecast display case in quite a long time. Looking forward to trying out the basing material. The base of the display will be “asphalt”, but I’m certainly open to suggestions for the overall theme.

So, apparently, is a thing. No ink yet, but it feels nice to break out the pencils and sketchbooks again. Thanks to latest video for a good kick in the pants.
