Sewing the Dream

Sewing the Dream Sewing cute and fashionable accessories for all. All proceeds are donated to children’s charities. Aloha and E komo mei (welcome) to my site.

I am a freshman in Highschool and I started this project of 'Sewing the Dream' while living in Hawai’i when I was 10 years old. We saw a lot of homeless families and children in Hawai'i and I wanted to do something good and also combine my new love of sewing. That's when 'Sewing The Dream' came to life. I now sew colorful and fun accessories as well as useful household gadgets. My goal was to donate my projects to keiki (children) in need. We have since moved to California, but I would like to continue to spread Aloha and hopefully brighten someone's day. For my logo I choose the shaka (which I drew myself), which stands for Hello, Love, and the Aloha spirit. How can you get involved in supporting my charity? It's easy and fun: Buy something from me at the markets I attend. All profits will be used to purchase cloth or notions needed to complete our donations (for instance we sew toiletry pouches and fill them with fun and useful products like creams, chapsticks, nailpolish, brushes, etc.). Profits will also be used to purchase books, which we will donate together with our bookmarks or reading pillows. The books are bought at a local library book sale (in turn benefiting the library as well). We sometimes also donate money to the charities. I hope that you can find something you love for yourself, your family and friends. Mahalo for supporting my charity!

We’ve been working on a little special project lately and got to deliver them to a local TK class this week. Customized Pencil rolls to keep the pencils quiet with coordinating colors to practice color matching. Such a joy to see the little ones use their new pencil rolls. We will have a new item inspired by these available at our next market.

Donation Days are the Best!!
Thank you for everyone who donated feed bags to us. We turned them into shopping tote bags and sold some at our last market. As promised we donated the profits to Santa Barbara Humane and Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue (in honor of Cali whom we adopted last year). We received some additional donations at the market and also did well overall so were able to round up the amount for both. We will have more totes available at our next event. Thank you again to everyone who purchased from us so we can do this! 🥰

We are so grateful to all of you for your support! Could not do this without you. Mahalo!!! 🌺
