Mad Rock Climbing is a climbing brand born from the mind of inventor Young Chu, a past and days-long-gone trad climbing bum of Yosemite National Park. In Yosemite, among other very early climbing areas, Young made his own climbing gear, and funded this passion in part by collecting cans. Now, Mad Rock Climbing offers a range of bouldering gear, sport climbing gear, and hardware, from pads and aggressive bouldering shoes to slim harnesses and sturdy hangers. With an international team of 200+ sport climbers, developers, trad climbers, and professional world cup competitive boulderers, Mad Rock strives to give back to the growth of the community from which Mad Rock was raised. Mad Rock believes developers pave the way for future generations of any range of climbers, and competitors pave the way for new methods in climbing training in order to set new standards for the sport. Mad Rock Climbing's office near LA is the international headquarters. The HQ offers a small climbing gym open to visitors and a retail store with Mad Rock and other brands.
