Rundholz DIP: A Garden of Textures

The newest from Rundholz DIP embraces a softer, more romantic mood defined by ethereal textures and expressive detail. The collection’s story unfolds with a sense of discovery, as if wandering through hidden paths where nature and time leave their mark.

Fogged and cloud-dyed tones drift across semi-sheer cotton, rustic open-weave silk sweaters, and chainmail-like linen pullovers, creating depth and movement reminiscent of sunlight filtering through the overgrown gardens of Castle Ashby in Northampton.

Delicate lace overlays and flowy sleeves infuse each piece with femininity, while distressed effects and painterly finishes balance softness with an edge. Suzusan: Bridging Time & Tradition

Suzusan’s newest collection focuses on the idea of building bridges: connecting heritage craft with modernity. Each garment is hand-dyed in Arimatsu, using the centuries-old Japanese shibori resist-dye technique, and carries subtle variations that make every piece unique.

Soft Giza cotton jersey dresses and brightly colored spring sweaters bring the same spirit of craftsmanship into effortless, everyday wear. By translating traditional textile artistry into contemporary garments, Suzusan creates a dialogue between past and present. This clothing carries a story, honoring the artisans who preserve this craft while bringing its beauty into daily life.

m.a+ (pronounced “em-across”) is the vision of Italian designer Maurizio Amadei, whose work explores the beauty of intersections where form, material and technique meet. From his countryside workshop north of Rome, Maurizio approaches construction as a sculptural practice, often crafting his leather goods from a single piece of material. His designs favor structure and the quiet power of restraint.

Biek Verstappen’s latest collection embodies a vision guided entirely by intuition, rooted in a deep respect for natural materials and innovative techniques. Her work celebrates modest beauty, allowing clothing to support rather than overshadow the wearer. Crafted in her flower-bulb-shed-turned-atelier outside Amsterdam, the line features raw silk, linen and wool with double weaves that combine durability with unexpected softness. Biek builds depth and liveliness through layered color, often using multiple dye baths to create shades that are rich in nuance. Tightly woven fibers create a tactile surface, while a palette of brown-toned reds, plums and grays (sometimes worked into subtle plaids) evokes the muted beauty of wintertime.

Here in one of our favorite palettes for fall, Kaval has arrived to Workshop with quiet power. Rendered with deft skill, the studio coalesces cashmere, washi and smooth silk twill into a collection of soft structures that speak to the brand’s intellectual minimalism. This patiently awaited delivery centers around deep chocolate browns and earthy neutrals counterbalanced against a handful of cashmere-forward winter whites.

Each Kaval piece is assembled on antique sewing machines–a crafting peculiarity that not only allows for better consistency when working with handwoven fabrics, but lends every seam a unique tension and finish that modern machines can’t replicate. This old-world-meets-new approach embodies the core of a slow fashion wardrobe, highlighting the potency of even the smallest design decisions.

Sydney-based, elevated streetwear label Song for the Mute is deft at harmonizing amidst dualities and is, fittingly, developed by a duo- Melvin Tanaya and Lyna Ty. Together they’ve grown the company from a single graphic tee to international collaborative collections with Adidas. The brand’s namesake speaks to giving a voice to the voiceless by delivering designs that cater to those who don’t quite fit the standard molds of society.

Melvin and Lyna describe their line as a “long-form story” told in fabric, themselves as the characters and seasons as chapters. The pair’s own story started in grade school in Sydney, Australia, where they formed a friendship that carried through to university. Melvin and Lyna partnered their respective graphic and fashion design educations to create their first piece: a printed t-shirt. This piece led to a sizable order from a boutique which left the pair scrambling to find a large-scale production outfit. A few directory page calls later, they connected with local Australian manufacturers who they continue to source from today. Staying true to a close-knit team and a unique vision brought SFTM acclaim- winning Fashion Brand of the Year at GQ’s 2019 Men of the Year Awards.

Well, we’ve received a trio of deliveries from Studio Rundholz.

Adventure Awaits: New From Rundholz DIP - Rendered in a muted, but tropical palette of Verdigris, Crab, Grape and Lagoon, the collection is inspired by vintage PanAm postcards. The first airline to fly worldwide, the PanAm era embodied possibility, discovery and a wild world to explore. True to this motif, the shapes speak of adventure: weathered utility jackets, breezy shirting and super-soft pullovers define the overall look.

Nomadic Inspiration: Rundholz Mainline - The designers took inspiration from Germanic and Slavic folklore for this collection, resulting in a deliciously dark and nomadic aesthetic with just the right amount of edge.

Finding Fire: Black Label - Rundholz Black Label is sporty as ever, with a selection of lightweight, cropped knits that are easy to wear and style within a larger seasonal wardrobe. Though we focused mostly on bringing in black and grey pieces for versatility, we couldn’t resist adding a few in fiery red.
