After 7½ years of being based out of New Mexico, HerShelves Elves is MOVING! 😱🧳 To...
The Pacific Northwest!!!
HerShelves Elves was born in my home state of Florida, relocated to New England a mere two months later, and brought to New Mexico in 2018. After 7½ years of new projects in the Land of Enchantment, trips to the post office, photoshoots, making friends, and travels around the southwest and Rocky Mountains, the elves, beasts, and I have decided that it's time to say goodbye to one chapter and hello to another.
In more ways than one. 💔
HerShelves Elves has been the center of my world for nearly 12(!!!) years. I brought my first elf, Iggy, to life when I was still in my teens, and now come July I will be 31. That is more than ⅓ of my entire life, and I could not have devoted those years to a more pure, more magical, more true passion. Bringing to life elves and dragons, butterflies and unicorns, Fiddle Sprites and mandrakes has brought me SUCH joy. The characters you've requested I turn into elves challenged my creativity and helped me to become a better artist.
I've sobbed, I've laughed, grown calluses, had dreams come true, traveled, and made lifelong friends because of HerShelves Elves, and it will always, always be a part of me. But...
In 2026, it is time to say so long for now.
As time has gone on, my availability to sit down and crochet for hours has grown smaller and smaller, and my responsibilities have become more demanding. I have pulled magic from my brain, my heart, and my soul for you--my fans, friends, and followers--for over a decade, and I could not be more grateful for the time that we've spent together.
Does this mean that I will stop creating altogether, or disappear from these accounts entirely? I certainly hope not!
I plan to pop on to socials occasionally to say hi, to share photos from new adventures the elves, beasts, and I have taken, or to reveal what I've been working on, but I do imagine that this next chapter of my life--becoming a bookseller--will take up the most of my time and attention.
Thank you. ❤️ Thank you all, for 12 magical years. Thank you for squealing with delight when I revealed Iggy for the first time, on October 18th 2014. Thank you for asking when I was going to bring more elf plushies to life, and, "will they be for sale??" Thank you for insisting on bigger and better projects (even and especially when I doubted myself). Thank you for counting down the days until your new magical friend arrived in the mail, and for sending photos the moment they were unwrapped. Thank you for loving my work. For that special place that it sits in your homes and hearts. For making my dream come true.
