They say all good things must come to an end.
After nearly 15 years in business, I've made the difficult decision to close Limonaia. I started the store in San Francisco in 2007, and in 2010 moved the store and myself back to my hometown of Los Angeles. I looked all over the city and decided that Montana Avenue in Santa Monica was the perfect location for Limonaia 2.0. It has been an immense privilege to get to know you all a little — to exchange stories and smiles, see families grow, and help pick out the perfect gift. Personally, the most gratifying experiences are the annual visits of families to pick out their Christmas ornaments and hearing about how much your friend or loved one enjoyed their gift from the store. I hope you'll look at those ornaments or gifts in the years to come and think fondly of your experiences at Limonaia. The neighborhood and the street have been such a joy to be a part of all these years. I thank you all for such a wonderful run.
During these years I've had the good fortune of having a wonderful staff, and the pleasure of working with the best reps and vendors. Retail has changed a lot in the last 15 years but the quality of people who work in it hasn't. Thank you all so much for being awesome, making my life better, and helping the store be a fun place to work and shop. I'm really proud of what we created together.
The goal is to close Limonaia by the end of January. I do hope you'll come by before then.
