STRIKE!
On Wednesday, September 13, 2023, federally-licensed dealers in fi****ms in New York will be closed for business because they will be on strike. The Second Amendment “to keep” - of “to keep and bear arms” - will go dark. Without dealers, there will be nothing for you “to keep.” No fi****ms. No ammunition. We’re doing it to raise public awareness of unjust laws passed summer 2022, which dealers are fighting in federal court. On July 25, 2023, the New York State Police “Joint Terrorism Taskforce” started enforcing those laws against dealers without notification to anyone. On September 13, 2023, the state of NY through the NYSP will attempt to launch its new fi****ms and ammunition background checks and it will start the build of the first-ever in U.S. history single database of gun owners.
Will you stand in solidarity?
At high noon on September 13, we’re asking you to stand in solidarity with dealers fighting for your Second Amendment rights, your privacy, your Heller-McDonald-NYSRPA v. Bruen. Will you please go to your local rod & gun club, your local range, your local sportsmen’s association property, and fire a round. Do so in accordance with the instructions of your range safety officer. Make this the “Shot Heard ‘Round the State II.” We did this ten years ago after the “SAFE Act.” We need to do it again.

*Please note: These new regulations are being pushed through by the Governor. The NYSP are doing what they are required to do. We support the NYSP and respect their service. If you have something to say, now is the time to speak up and reach out to local, regional, and state levels of government.

FYI, we (and all other businesses) have received the first official notice from the state.
We have not been given much information from the state. Please be patient as we do our best to answer questions (so many) and help you.
Be forewarned, as of 9/13 there will be a fee associated with each check as well, $9/firearm, $2.50/ammo transaction required of all dealers to obtain from their customers (per the state, certainly not our choosing). The state is also still requiring our keeping of the ammunition log book (yes we have heard from many of you that not every shop is doing this...as outrageous as the laws may be, we are choosing to follow the laws).
