If you have Clorox wipes under your sink, take a closer look at what’s actually in them.

I used products like this for years without thinking twice. But once I started researching ingredients, I realized some of the things I was cleaning my home with weren’t ingredients I wanted to use around my family every day.

Clorox disinfecting wipes contain:
• Quats, disinfectants linked to skin and respiratory irritation
• Ethoxylated ingredients, which can contain manufacturing contaminants like 1,4-dioxane
• Hexoxyethanol, a glycol ether solvent with irritation and other toxicity concerns
• Fragrance, which can contain undisclosed fragrance chemicals

That doesn’t mean I stopped disinfecting my home. I just found an option that better fits my standards.

Force of Nature makes hypochlorous acid from salt, water + vinegar and disinfects without quats, fragrance or dyes.

This is one of those swaps that just makes sense to me, especially for something I use on surfaces throughout my home.

Dish soap is a perfect example.
Some conventional options contain ingredients I personally avoid, including fragrance, synthetic dyes, ethoxylated ingredients, harsh surfactants and certain preservatives.

And when it’s something I’m using on the dishes my family eats from every single day, I’d rather choose a simpler option.

The good news? There are plenty of healthier swaps that still get the job done.
