Last month, Release Marine was proud to join The Billfish Foundation | TBF in Nantucket for the third season of theskillieproject 🙌

This community-driven effort brings together captains, crews, industry partners and researchers to better understand and protect the white marlin population off Cape Cod and southern New England.

Four boats and their crews took part in this year’s effort, helping satellite-tag two white marlin.

One previously tagged skillie traveled nearly 7,000 miles in eight months, showing just how much these fish can teach us when fishermen, science and community work together.

We’re proud to support this important work and help protect the fishery for generations to come!

A great night celebrating the sportfishing community at the 27th Annual Fishing Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony 🙌

We loved catching up with old friends, celebrating legends of the sport, and coming together to honor the 2026 inductees — Roy W. Cronacher Jr., Tom Davidson, Captain Ralph Delph, Patrick Healey and Jose Wejebe.

A special congratulations to our longtime friend Pat Healey. Pat’s influence on sportfishing reaches far beyond boatbuilding. His dedication to strengthening our industry and protecting the future of our fisheries has left a lasting mark on the sport we all love.

Release Marine President, Matt Hecht, is in Nantucket this week participating in the The Billfish Foundation | TBF Skillie Project — a collaborative research effort focused on better understanding the movements, habitat use and migration of white marlin, known locally as “Skillies.”

We’re proud to be part of an effort bringing together the sportfishing community, scientists and industry leaders to help advance billfish research and conservation for the future of the fishery 🙌
