Tonight, Riley’s Inspired Creations is honored to announce a very special fundraiser for Renee Ackerman.
Renee is a wife, a mother, a Nana, a daughter, a sister, and a friend. She wears many titles, but above all else, she is a woman who loves the Lord with all her heart, mind, and soul.
For over 30 years, Renee has faithfully led others in praise and worship. Through different churches, different seasons of life, and whatever challenges have come her way, one thing has remained constant: her love for the Lord.
And here’s something I love about Renee. Her worship doesn’t depend on a microphone, a platform, or a title. Whether she’s leading a congregation or worshiping from a church pew, she’s still a worship leader at heart.
Worship isn’t just something she does. It’s part of who she is.
Now, this woman who has spent so many years lifting others up in worship is facing one of the biggest battles of her life.
💜 RENEE’S STORY 💜
Renee’s medical journey began 23 years ago when complications from kidney stones left her unable to urinate normally, eventually requiring a suprapubic catheter.
In 2024, her catheter had to be moved to a new location. Unfortunately, the original site never properly healed, leading to two years of ongoing infections, bacteria, and medical complications.
On September 3, doctors performed a procedure to investigate what was happening with her bladder. That’s when they discovered cancer cells.
On October 9, a PET scan revealed cancer involving her bladder and the tract where her catheter enters her body.
Tomorrow, October 13, Renee is scheduled to undergo major surgery to remove the cancer-affected areas, with an anticipated two-week hospital stay.
As if this journey hasn’t already been difficult enough, Renee and her family recently experienced another frightening medical emergency.
Before her surgery, her family wanted to enjoy some much-needed time together on a cruise. A chance to make memories, enjoy one another, and have a little peace before the difficult road ahead.
Unfortunately, while aboard the ship, Renee’s kidneys went into failure.
She required emergency medical care in the ship’s infirmary for two and a half days, followed by another two and a half days in an ICU in Florida.
The medical care she received saved her life, but it also brought an overwhelming and unexpected financial burden.
Without cruise medical coverage, the family is now facing substantial medical expenses that their regular health insurance will not cover. Add to that the ongoing medical bills, travel expenses, appointments, and time away from work.
Her husband, Glenn, has already missed two weeks of work and is now facing another two weeks away as he stands beside his wife through surgery and recovery.
And as we all know, the everyday bills don’t stop just because life takes an unexpected turn.

We aren’t sharing Renee’s story to ask for pity. We’re sharing it because sometimes even the strongest people, the ones who have spent their lives encouraging, praying for, and lifting up others, need someone to come alongside them.
For over 30 years, Renee has helped lead others in worship, lifting her voice in praise to the very God she continues to trust today.
And that is exactly why we chose the words on this shirt:

Because even in the middle of this storm, her faith and her love for the Lord remain at the center of her story.
