I was approached by a couple to have me make their bouquets and they would use my flowers to DIY the table bud vases.
After showing them my gardens, they decided to actually have their ceremony right here! The reception was right close by at Loughlin Vineyards .

Hot day...going through some old photos...

And here's one that I really loved. It's mantle decor for a rehearsal dinner at a yacht club on Fire Island. in May.
Mostly my flowers...clematis, lilac, viburnum, allium, ranunculus, deutzia, chamomile. And added in snaps, hydrangea and lisianthus !

A special order using Sayville colors ! All from the gardens here!
No having to ship flowers, no plastic wrap and no packing boxes ! The flower industry can create a lot of waste. Buying local flowers helps combat all that waste. Meanwhile....when I do have to buy in for a large wedding and I can't get local flowers, I recycle always. The Sayville library collects plastic bags and when they have enough they send it away and a bench gets made for the library grounds !

We repurposed the church flowers ( St Patrick's Bayshore) and used them at the club entrance for Southward Ho .

It's always interesting trying to figure out what my bouquet customers will like. For years it was mostly the bouquets will all sorts of mixed colors. Lately it's been more monotone bouquets.
Personally I like the monotone or the one with complementary colors. ...or pastels...or brights...or...
Well, I guess I just like to have bouquets that are always something different!
What color combinations do you like best? DO you put the bouquet as is into a vase or do you divide it up into many bud vases? I'm curious :)

Don’t panic!! Give Mother Nature a chance. This one dahlia plant had two stems covered in aphids. But already you can see the ladybugs coming to feast.

I finally got to take the floral class in Italy ! Covid , airline cancellations...etc prevented me from getting there until now!
My first time in Tuscany and it didn't disappoint!
The class is given by a London florist called Rebel Rebel. They are known for entirely sustainable floristry and they have their own flower farm in Lucca. Five of us took the class and we stayed in an agritourism farm hosted by Jamie and Ailsa.
Each day we had two lessons with a free day in the middle to explore.

Two carts full of flowers this morning and so much more. I got back late last night from a weeklong flower fun class in Tuscany with Rebel Rebel Italië. I’ll be posting pics as soon as I can!
I think my daughter made some fantastic bouquets while I was gone. I hope anyone that came by was happy with them😊💐
