Dear Sayville Retirees,

We are reaching out to support Kellie Lindskog, who is facing two unimaginable losses. Kellie tragically lost her brother, Jon, in a boating accident, followed by the heartbreaking loss of her 15-year-old grandson, who drowned in the Dominican Republic while trying to save a young girl.

We are collecting donations to support Kellie and her family. Any contribution is greatly appreciated. Please Venmo with a heart ❤️.

Jon Lindskog’s visitation will be Thursday, August 13, from 4–8 PM at Overton Funeral Home, 172 Main Street, Islip, with a prayer service at 7 PM.

Congratulations to our Sayville Retired Teachers Scholarship winners: James Regan and Reese Walters (not pictured). Reese will be studying speech pathology while James will be studying music education. We wish them both all the best on their journey to become teachers. 💛💜🎊

Sadly we have learned Stan Brett has passed away. Stan was the school psychologist in both the middle & high school before retiring after 25+ years in Sayville. He also taught at Adelphi University at night & was in private practice too. Stan was active in the pre-union days as an advocate for teacher rights and student (especially special needs) rights too.
Our deepest sympathies to his family, friends and former colleagues. May he rest in peace 🙏
