A while back, I was asked to make some memory pillows from clothing from a loved one that had passed. At first, it was difficult for me to make them. Not so much the sewing, but the emotions that came with sewing the pieces together. I’ve made a few more pillows and blankets since then, and I can say that it doesn’t get much easier. Some of the people I have known pretty well and some I have not really known at all. Each piece carries a moment, a voice, a presence that once filled their days. As I sewn the pieces together, I shed a few tears, knowing that these families are mourning what has been lost and honoring what remains. I know these pieces don’t replace the loved one. It only becomes a place where their story can rest, where hands can reach for comfort and where love continues in a form that can be held close. In stitching these memories together, I remind myself that love never fades, it simply finds new ways to stay close to our hearts. I can say that I have had the honor and privilege in stitching memories into something that can still be held for these loved ones. As the holidays are here and the new year begins, treasure every moment with those you love and live each day filled with joy, love, and hope!

Hello All! I have decided to change the name of my site. It will now be: HeARTful Stitches.
