Weekly Highlight Time!🎃Here are a few random moments from our shop on Jay Street in Upstate New York. Our minimum hours at our Schenectady location are Wednesday through Saturday 11am to 5pm and Sunday from 10am to 3pm.

2) Local artist Ingrid Tiffe made us a batch of Tiny Capes for Sonny Angels!
3) We have Trinket Trade Raffle winners!
4) Vintage Jack-O-Lantern guy became an honorary Cat Boy Band member!
5) In the midst of painting her mural in the neighborhood Jade Warrick took a moment to see Family+Tree+House, the new installation by Jen Wojtowicz.
6) We have a pretty new set of shelves at the end of the hallway for all the new things!
7) The Tube Monster workshop with artist Jen Wojtowicz was so fun! Sign up for her next one on Oct 24th at the register or online.
8) We reorganized the bookshelf to fit a bunch of new things.

Today 10/16, is the art reception for Family+Tree+House, the incredible new art installation in our back gallery, and the return of My Favorite Days, the Halloween diorama in our front window at our NY location! Both by Jen Wojtowicz in collaboration with her husband, Marcus Kwame Anderson and their daughter, Jenny Adama . The free tube monster craft project begins at 4pm, the artist talk with both Jen and Marcus is at 6pm and we are open until 8pm!

Tube Monster Craft Project (4:00 PM – 6:00 PM): A fun, hands-on drop-in project led by the artist (free, fun for all ages).

Art Reception (5:00 PM – 8:00 PM): An evening celebrating the new exhibition with light refreshments and art appreciation.

Artist Talk (6:30 PM): An interesting discussion where Jen Wojtowicz delves into the hidden symbolism, ancestral themes, and inspiration behind our newest exhibition, Family+Tree+House.

Regular customer Wizard 𖦹°⋆ went to Taiwan and used one of our Blackwing Reporter notebooks to document her trip! The train stamps are so cool!

This Blackwing Reporter Pads come as a set of 2. Each pad contains 80 sheets of 80GSM, blank paper. They measure 3”x 6.25” x 0.5” (about the size of a smartphone), so they fit easily in your pocket or bag.

Blackwing pencils were used by award-winning creators throughout the 20th century. Despite a cult following, they fell victim to cost cutting measures in the 1990s and were discontinued, but not forgotten, Analog-minded devotees began paying as much as $40 for a single pencil.

The brand was acquired in 2010 and brought back for a growing culture of artists, musicians, and everyday people looking to unplug and live mindfully.
