🧶 Knitting for Our Community 🧶

For many years, Laurie and her knitting friends have been creating these sweet little dolls and donating them to women’s shelters, children’s homes, senior living communities, and other organizations in need.

When Laurie shared this beautiful idea with me, I absolutely loved it! Giving back to our community through something we already enjoy doing feels so meaningful and it is also a wonderful way to use up those little amounts of leftover yarn we all have at home.

Each doll begins with a simple knitted rectangle made from scrap yarn. The pattern is beginner-friendly, so everyone can participate! Throughout October, we will knit the dolls together, assemble and finish them in November, and donate them in early December.

There are so many wonderful possibilities for donating here in the Valley, and we are currently exploring which local organizations we can support. Depending on how many dolls our community creates, we may even be able to donate to several different places.

If you work with or know of a local organization that you believe would be a meaningful recipient for these handmade dolls, please reach out to me. We would love to hear your suggestions! 💕

The pattern is available now in store, and you can also stop by to see the finished dolls in person. We will also have a special get-together at the store where we can knit the dolls together, so be on the lookout for that date! You are also welcome to knit your dolls at home and bring them to us when they are finished.

So gather your scrap yarn and join us in knitting something special for our community. 🩷

Oktoberfest is one of Germany’s most beloved traditions, and having attended many Oktoberfest celebrations myself, I’ve always loved the cheerful atmosphere, delicious food, and the joy of coming together.

Now, we’re bringing a little taste of Germany to Yarn Parlour!

Join us for a fun and festive evening featuring German Oktoberfest beer, traditional Oktoberfest specialties, wonderful company, and plenty of laughter. Let us surprise you with the delicious treats we have planned!

Our very first Sweater Club meet-up was last week, and what a wonderful table filled with wonderful sweater knitters! 🧶✨

We’ve decided to keep it simple: it’s not a “Sweater-a-Month Club” it’s our Sweater Club! Everyone who is currently working on a sweater is more than welcome to join us, bring their project, and knit in good company. 💕

No rules and no sign-up necessary- just bring your sweater and join us!

Our next meet-up is September 18 from 1:00–2:30 PM. I will continue announcing future meet-up dates right here on Instagram.

We are so excited to introduce Saona, a beautiful yarn rooted in Spanish tradition, local craftsmanship, and the fibers of Andalusia.

Saona brings together 50% locally grown Andalusian cotton and 50% local wool from native Spanish sheep breeds. The cotton is grown in Lebrija, Sevilla, while the wool comes from local flocks supported by AGRATA, an association of 25 farming families dedicated to preserving the native Talaverana sheep breed. 🤍

The result is a wonderfully soft and versatile fingering-weight yarn with a beautiful natural feel and lovely drape, perfect for lightweight garments, shawls, scarves, accessories, and so much more.

✨ This beauty definitely had everyone’s attention at our last Craft & Connect! Night 🧶🤍

At this beautiful oversized wrap, there were definitely a lot of eyes on it at our last Craft & Connect evening! 😍

This is the by Rachel Wolfe Rachel Wolfe - RW Custom Yarn , a gorgeous Assigned Pooling project that uses three skeins of fingering-weight yarn. For this one, our wonderful knitter combined two skeins of Assigned Pooling yarn from Tammy Pelfrey, A Chick That Knitz with one solid color and we absolutely love how it turned out.

This beauty was knitted by one of our lovely, talented knitters from the community and kindly loaned to us to share with all of you. Thank you so much! 🩷

And it truly is a wrap or maybe we should call it a wonderfully oversized shawl! It’s big, cozy, and perfect for wrapping yourself up and really snuggling into. 🥰🧶

And that’s one of the things we love about this project , there are so many possibilities to make it completely your own. We have Assigned Pooling yarn and lots of beautiful solid colors available, so you can play with different combinations and find the one that speaks to you.
