Something has been brewing for a long time and tonight over laughter and dinner it came to fruition. In 2004 I signed a contract to purchase the Purple Pelican in Seaside, Oregon. Today is the day my long time employee signed a contract to purchase the Purple Pelican in Seaside, Oregon as of January 1, 2024.

Both of us are so thrilled! Y’all I’m retiring! Tricia Brown is so ready for this next step. Many of you already know her from the store & her awesome customer oriented personality. She knows the heart of the store and the product lines we carry. I’m so relaxed and confident knowing she will carry it forward with her own unique imprint and it will thrive for many more years. I’m going to bet this page will become more robust with Tricia at the helm 😎

Sometimes it’s serendipity to have certain people walk into the store. It certainly was when I looked up to see Lesley and Travis. Once Travis got home from his deployment in 2022 they began in earnest to realize a dream of a starting a candle company. After a lot of trial and error they landed on an awesome blend made with organic butter and cream. IKR!! With names like Mt Hood Mint, Where Wildflowers Meet the Pacific, Huckleberry Blossom, you get the Pacific Northwest essence coming through. I wish I could give you a sampling through IG but you’ll have to come in for that. These travel tins are perfect for … well, travel - RV, camping, hotel. Wherever you go, they go.
