✨ How to Trim & Propagate String of Hearts ✨

My video skills are something to be desired for BUT I was processing my String of Hearts today and think this is the cutest thing ever so I just wanted to share the process! Wound up spending a few hours on it rather than a few minutes but I'm learning 🫠

This method is called the Butterfly Method 🦋 the name is as cute as it is. I learned this method a few years back and have taught it at a few propagation classes and everyone loves it! It's really fun.

🌿 Celebrate the coming of March learning all about propagating your houseplants 🌿

We are teaming up with to have this fun event! We will be doing a propagation class, plant sale AND seed swap! Also, beer 🍻

The event will be on Saturday March 1st. Class will be 1-3 PM. Sale until 4ish.

It's the perfect time to start planning for the coming months- indoor & outdoor! So come join us 🌱

The class will be $25 a person and will include your admission, propagations to take home and a goodie bag that includes:
🌿 Plant Clippers
🌿 Propagation Vessel
🌿 2 Double-Sided Informational Cards
🌿 Earth In Hand sticker

* The seed swap is completely free! Just bring some seeds in order to participate! *

The class will go through the basics of propagating houseplants. We will also go through the steps you will take once your propagation has grown roots and is ready to pot!

I am REALLY excited for this class. It's going to be jam-packed with information!

We will bring several plants along to demonstrate the various methods as well. Everyone will get a chance to clip something off and take it home!

We wanted to offer something special to say thank you, thank you THANK YOU to the community for all of your support this last year. It's been a wild ride, so we appreciate you sticking with us.

We are just about wrapped up with shutting down our physical location and we are veeerrryyy excited to have more time, space & energy to focus on helping the community with plant needs, holding classes & workshops, and popping up all over the place!

To say thank you, for the entire month of February, we will be offering 20% off of our services.

Those services include, but are not limited to:

🌱 Plant Maintenance (Home or Business)
🌱 Plant Diagnosis (Home or Business)
🌱 Re-Potting (Home or Business)
🌱 Design/Installation (Home or Business)

We are also streamlining our pricing a bit to make it easier to explain and understand;

We will now charge a flat rate of $25 for a home or business visit (Seaside, Cannon Beach, Warrenton/Hammond, Astoria, Lewis & Clark).

If all you need is for us to check out one plant and give you some advice and not even touch it, then it is $25 flat and if you need further assistance we can schedule from there.

If you need immediate help such as re-potting, trimming, diagnosing, maintenance, anything of that sort we will charge $50 an hour. And that number will flex with the amount of minutes we are there! (This is ALL included in the 20% off this month).

We are slowly expanding our offerings and hope to be doing a few classes a month around the area! So be on the lookout for what's next 👀🌿

We are on the lookout for spaces to host us! If you or someone you know would like to hold a class of some sort at your place of business, DM me and we can chat about specifics! Or even if you just have interest, don't hesitate to reach out!

✨ Propagation Potting Event & Pop-Up Plant Sale ✨

Come by any time between 12 PM - 3 PM, grab a beverage and pot up some plants!

🌱 If you're planning to attend though, please note what to expect:

🌿 This event is structured a bit differently as it is not a guided class but more of an open event. As this time of year can be high stress, I was hoping to make this event much less structured and a bit more accessible to all (including myself 😜)

🌱 I will be there to give any and all instructions, but the main purpose of this event is to gather community and get our hands in the dirt! And do a little learning and have fun while we're at it.

🌿 Bring your propagations or plants that need re-potting and then you can either sit back with a beer while I re-pot it for you or you can do it yourself with all of the necessary supplies required!

🌱 If you don't have propagations or plants to plant I will be bringing in an array of propagations to pot up as well!

🌿 The cost will be $20 to participate in the potting, you will get an informational guide, a soil scoop, a 2" or 4" pot and the necessary substrate for your plant.

🌱 If you'd like me to just re-pot your plants, prices will range $15-$25 for a re-pot depending on the size.

🌿 No RSVP is required for this event. But I won't be mad if you let me know you're coming so I have a loose idea of peeps attending 🥰

It is with a bittersweetly heavy heart that I announce the closure of the brick & mortar location of Earth In Hand. It was an incredibly fulfilling and fun experience that I will always hold dear in my heart.

The community that has gathered to make us feel welcome. The help we received from friends and colleagues. The friendly words and gestures from all. It's been humbling to say the least.

But as the lease is coming up for renewal, we realized the shift of our business model can offer more financial stability and time overall, as the business will now be conducted from my home rather than paying rent on a space.

We will now specifically be focusing on:
🌿 Markets
🌿 Pop-Ups
🌿 Classes
🌿 Maintenance (in home & business)
🌿 Re-Potting
🌿 Plant Installation/Design
🌿 Plant Sitting
🌿 All things planty & helpful

We will also soon have an online shop up & running where you can order plants and supplies for local delivery and US shipping ✨

Please know that this is bittersweet but will be the best overall decision in the end all around as I focus on other areas of my life. Such as relaxing and taking care of myself.

This time more than ever we could use everyone's support. Word of mouth, sharing or liking our posts, coming to classes that we hold, etc. Anything would be helpful as we make this transition 🙏
