Were still in the thick of it, so…reminder for tomatoes and flowers. :-)
Happy Labor Day Weekend! It looks as if the rain will clear before it puts a damper on any weekend barbecue plans. I always welcome rain down at the farm, but I did rush to get a big tomato harvest in before any downpours. Those delicious beauties are rather thin skinned and object to lots of rain on their delicate complexions! Note: We’re at that time of the year where we’re starting to have tomato seconds - some that are blemished and some were picked just the week prior. We won’t have them out on display, but if any of you are interested, please email us and we can sell them by the pound for sauces.
In addition, we’ll have lots of goodies for your weekend cooking plans. Along with the tomatoes we’ll offer up some potato boxes and a couple varieties of onions, as well as our usual cukes and zukes and green beans, etc.
I’m waiting for the sun’s return to get my beautiful peppers to ripen up more….on the other hand, the cool weather has been a gift to my fall greens, so I bet we’ll have some kale, arugula and bok choy making an appearance in the next couple weeks.
Enjoy the weekend and see you on Saturday!
