Happy Small Business Saturday!!!

I can’t believe I started Dusk Hera four years ago. Initially as a jewelry business, to permanent jewelry experiences, and now as a form of personal, artistic expression.

Two years ago we moved to Seattle and I took my jewelry with me. Then, my world flipped upside down and everything changed. So grateful to be here now. But I owe a huge thanks to my friends in North Carolina. The small businesses that hosted me and the small business owners I met along the way. It started in college in Chapel Hill, survived the pandemic in Cary, thrived in Durham and Raleigh, and took side quests to Charlotte. Please support your small businesses today! Your local retailers, that indie brand you like online (you’re cool enough to wear it), or that friend who makes cool crafts!

Thanks a million times 100 for the love you showed me at markets, in my DM’s, through orders, and more. I appreciate you for understanding that the jewelry, the photography, the design; ultimately these were all offerings from an artist at heart. So thank you for your support and patronage.

In the coming year I hope to grow and learn and take my time. Hopefully I make some halfway decent stuff, add to a growing portfolio, and then one day I’ll be able to formally offer super cool commissions. Thanks for watching and shop small today y’all💗

✍🏻Process: Diner style mugs for !

I’ve had so much fun building these. I took their logo and made stencils with sticker vinyl before painting them with underglaze. I wanted meaty, substantial handles to support piping hot cups of coffee or Abuelita. Finally, each much receives my signature and a clear glaze. I hope the user feels warmed and comforted by this design.

Small ceramic home goods for your altars, vanity, and desks✨

These little guys have come a long way! My stock is a mix of my earliest work and my most recent. I adore the bésame trinket trays, I’m so proud of how the layers of underglaze paint came out. There’s a base color, a lighter red, white highlights, and a little bit of liner💋

I’m working away on my first big commission☕️ they are lovely diner style mugs. After I finish, I think I’ll do a short series on them. Maybe with cute phrases or silly designs🫶🏼

Anyway, I hope you’re enjoying the rest of your summer! Eat the last of those in season cherries and berries, baby! I hope you soak up the sun and let the warmth seep deep into your bones🌞 it’s almost spooky season😉
