Our Pimento Cheese is officially a Startup CPG Shelfie Award winner for Dips & Spreads!

Two years ago, we discovered the Shelfie Awards and quietly set a goal: create a product that could stand toe to toe with the best on the shelf.

Today, we can officially say we did it.

For Food with Roots, this means more than an award. It’s validation that the recipes, the long production days, the demos, the buyer meetings, the lessons, the setbacks and all the little steps forward are building toward something real.

We’re incredibly proud to represent Southern food and our story on shelves, and even more excited about where we go from here.

Thank you to and to every person who has bought a container, shared it with a friend, put us on a shelf or opened a door for us.

Giving a big thank you to Local Yokels for continuing to build and actually do the work of supporting local businesses. You will find one of the best selections of locally made products right here in this store. They undoubtedly have the highest concentration of local products per square foot of space than anyone in the city. If you ever in the North Seattle area be sure to grab a few tubs of pimento cheese, bottle of mustard BBQ, Caesar and Pikliz at this local store. tag your brand!

People keep asking about pikliz and how to use it. Simple answer, put it on everything! Here are a few ways we really enjoy pikliz: on tacos, with fish, fried foods, sandwiches, sausages and straight out of the jar.

From the rice fields of Thailand to the American South, rice has long been a symbol of comfort, celebration, and community. Our newest seasonal flavor brings those traditions together.

🥭 Mango Rice Pudding has officially arrived.
Our take on the beloved Thai-inspired coconut mango rice pudding starts with broken Mississippi-grown rice, rich coconut, and our ridiculously good house-made mango syrup. It turned out so good we had to bottle the syrup for you to take home.

But don’t wait. This is a limited seasonal release.

Mango season is officially here, and if you know me, you know this is my favorite time of year.

One of the best parts of opening Raindrop Creamery has been having a home for all of our seasonal creations. Beyond the ice cream case, we’re filling the pantry with small batch items you won’t find anywhere else.

First up is our Mango Habanero Hot Sauce. Made with naturally sweet Alphonso mangoes and finished with just the right kick of habanero, it’s bright, fruity, spicy, and ridiculously versatile.

This is just the beginning. Over the next few weeks we’ll be rolling out more mango favorites from the Food with Roots kitchen, all made in limited batches while the season lasts.
So stop by for a scoop, explore the pantry, and grab these seasonal releases before mango season disappears.
