I have to take a moment to say this. I wrote this book in the middle of the pandemic, while nursing a newborn and homeschooling my eldest child. Every day felt like Mission Impossible. But I loved the work. I loved what I knew this book would become and I relished in the journey. To have this recognition from the makes the many sleepless nights and thorn pricked fingers a little less harrowing. Thank you, thank you, thank you, and congratulations to the other nominees!
