Sometimes a Wartime Martin just walks in the door on a Saturday, and that’s perfectly alright. One family-owned 1943 Martin 000-28 with bookmatched straight grain Brazilian, herringbone trim, and only one tiny cleated top crack (the usual “B string” business).

Party in the front *and* the back?! This 2000 Rickenbacker 360/12CW Carl Wilson signature is one of the most uniquely and heavily figured from this run, with tight flame maple on top and bookmatched bubble maple across the back.

But how about that not-so-subtle third Toaster Top mod? Well, we got curious, and were able to match up the grain and figuring to a guitar thats had its pics passed around the Internet for a couple decades. If you recognize this guitar from RickBeat and “man of many Rics” .mutchler , you’d be on the, ahem, beat.

Really cool mod, fantastic Ric, and always fun to track down a little provenance.

Black & Blonde Jazzy Js. Early 1960 Fender Jazzmaster with a *one piece* ash body, and one from 1962 in Black with a matching peghead.

Just lists these two, and so many early Jazzmasters kicking around right now.

Black Floral and Blue Flower Teles + 1956 Fender Tweed Deluxe 5E3.

Black Floral Tele was a very limted run for Fender Japan circa 2010, and the Blue Flower is one of the earliest A-serial Fender Japan examples to ever roll through the shop (1987!). Super greened out clear coat and what a sound.

All fresh finds from our recent trip to Tokyo, with tons more to come.

(apparently the Cowsills version of “I love the flower girl” isn’t available to serenade y’all on this post, so we found this gem instead)

Gibson Nick Lucas x2! Bob Dylan-spec’d 13 fret model special ordered for a single dealer (less than 10 made, including two that ended up in “A Complete Unknown”) and an Argentine Grey Murphy Lab Light Aged model.

We haven’t otherwise posted these yet, and get ‘em while they’re hot.

Here’s something fun: 1959 Gretsch Chet Atkins Country Gentleman, sequentially serialized with the one Chet played prominently. Chet’s guitar is s/n 31444, and this one is 31445.

Heavily figured, PAF Filter’Trons, and early pre-Gretsch branded Bigsby. If you’re a bonafide Chet-head, it doesn’t get much better.

Fender Custom Shop P Basses x2 (Left: Sherwood Green, Right: Sage Green) plus an honest to goodness 1961 Fender Dual Showman with its pair of JBL D130s. And the output transformer? It’s massive (yes, yes the “Dick Dale” transformer).

The Shownan is a little sneak peek at Amp Mountain, our recent score of a couple dozen Blonde-era Fender piggyback amps. Every Showman, Bassman and Bandmaster variant accounted for, many with original Victoria Luggage covers.

If you have an itch to rip a Blonde/Brown Panel Fender, let’s hook it up.

⚡️Korina Alert ⚡️1963 Fender Stratocaster from that storied batch circa November, 1963 where Fender inexplicably cranked out a few Strats with Korina bodies instead of alder/ash. A few more of these exist than some sources would lead you to believe, but it’s still in the “they made a handful” category.

Lightweight, extremely sweet-sounding and full on its acoustic merits, and holy moly, the neck: It’s big. Real big. Starts out at the nut in that medium/slender C range, but by the time you hit the 5th fret it’s baseball bat chunky.

We’re super geeked on it.
