If you've ever wished you could transfer a design onto pottery more accurately, carbon transfer paper might become your new favorite studio tool.

In this tutorial, we show how to use printed artwork, carbon paper, and a pencil to transfer a design onto bisqueware before painting. It's a simple technique that can help bring more detailed imagery to your pottery, even if drawing isn't your strongest skill.

Sometimes working smarter is just as creative as working harder.

Earthy greens and warm brown accents are a combo that rarely misses 🌿🤎

This mug by features Gunmetal Green from over touches of Albany Slip Brown on the rim. The result is a beautiful blend of deep green, warm brown, and organic variation that feels right at home on Klamath Buff clay.

We're always here for glaze combinations that look like they were inspired by a walk through the woods.

You may notice black markings on the labels of some products in-store. Don't worry—the formulas haven't changed. This is simply a packaging update to comply with California labeling requirements. 🏺

If you've spent any time around Seattle Pottery Supply, you've probably seen SP52 Shadow Green.

With its rich green base, warm brown speckling, and subtle metallic sheen, it's become our most iconic glaze—and a customer favorite for good reason. Depending on the clay body and application thickness, Shadow Green can shift from earthy and organic to silvery and dramatic.

✔️ Cone 4–6

✔️ Beautiful green with brown speckling

✔️ Slight metallic effect

✔️ Becomes more silvery where it pools

✔️ Lead-free and dinnerware safe

Versatile, dependable, and full of character. There's a reason so many potters keep coming back to Shadow Green.

The only thing better than ceramic mushrooms is more ceramic mushrooms 🍄✨

Created by during one of our Raku firing events, these little sculptures capture everything we love about raku: unexpected surfaces, dramatic results, and a little bit of magic from the kiln.

If you've been curious about raku, consider this your sign. Our Raku Workshops take place on the first and third Saturdays of each month and are a great way to experiment with one of ceramics' most exciting firing techniques.
