Mandevilla Bella was introduced at Rock City Gardens last year. Known for its strong branching, full habit, abundant blooms, and excellent heat tolerance, it performs beautifully. This year, we are growing the Bella series in white, pink, and red. See you at the gardens!

This Labor Day, we’re celebrating the people behind the plants, the gardens, and the work you see everyday.

We are grateful for a team that shows up, works hard, takes pride in what they do, and helps make Rock City Gardens what it is.

Happy Labor Day to our incredible crew!

A Stellar Desert Rose Crop

We are excited about this year’s Desert Rose crop. Sourcing these plants took quite a bit of extra effort because of ongoing trade disruptions, but the result was worth it—we have an exceptional selection available now.
If you lost a Desert Rose during last winter’s freeze, this is the perfect time to replace it. Planting now gives your new plant time to establish before cooler weather arrives.

Happy 4th of July!

Today we are grateful for the beauty of this country and the people who make it home. As we celebrate America’s 250th year, we are reminded how lucky we are to live among so much natural beauty and community.

Wishing you a joyful Independence Day from all of us at Rock City Gardens. 🇺🇸

Pentas are one of the best summer flowers because they love the heat, bloom generously, and bring cheerful color even when many plants start to struggle. They work well in sunny beds and containers, add strong color with relatively low maintenance, and support butterflies and other pollinators during the hottest months of the year. See you at the gardens!

The Alocasia ‘Holy Grail’ gets its name from its legendary status in the rare-houseplant community, where it is regarded as the ultimate, almost mythical prize—much like the elusive Holy Grail of Arthurian legend—because it originated as a one-of-a-kind spontaneous mutation during tissue-culture propagation of a dark-leaved variety. It is not just another pretty Alocasia—it’s a collector’s unicorn thanks to that specific mutation, velvety darkness, silver veining, and haunting “ghost moth” leaf shape that makes it look like living art, and spotting or growing one feels like a genuine win for any rare plant enthusiast.
